Pop Culture Writers, Freelance

We are looking for talented writers and movie/TV nerds to write and research for us! This is a great opportunity to write for a leading entertainment site, in the top 50 of all websites in the United States. We're looking for writers who have a wealth of TV, movie, and/or general pop culture knowledge and are looking for a regular freelance gig.

We cover pop culture from a lot of different angles, with a particular focus on genre movies (sci-fi, action, horror, fantasy, and comedy); general movie/TV tropes, performances, characters, plot details, and behind-the-scenes stories; major franchises (MCU/DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings); as well as, on occasion, miscellaneous celebrity, music, or reality TV.

This is a paid, remote, cold assignment gig. Candidates will be compensated for their work on a per-article basis, based on the length of assignment and level of research required. Quantity of assignments will be in the range of 1-3 lists per week.

Here's what you'll need for us to trust you with tons of assignments:

• Writing chops that enable you to create an article about anything in a clear, informative, and fun style.


• Broad, comprehensive knowledge of pop culture, film, and TV, such that you can easily think of 15+ items for any list we assign you.


• Advanced, thorough research skills.


• Experience freelance writing, ideally for a major site similar in scope to Ranker.
