Job Description:
Employment:
Helps coordinate recruitment efforts with contract recruiter and hiring managers.
May serve as part of the initial interview team.
Coordinates with Managers and Executives to finalize offers.
Initiates and reviews background checks.
Conducts onboarding for new hires.
Conducts exit interviews.
Training and Performance:
Coordinates the annual performance management process.
Schedules and tracks mandatory in-house employee training.
Maintains employee training records.
Contributes to the implementation of company safety and health programs. Monitors the tracking of OSHA-required data.
Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS):
Maintains, utilizes, and troubleshoots the HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now) to process employee changes, policies, etc.
Manages the development, maintenance, and communication via the company Intranet and internal Social media platform; particularly for company information, and events.
Employee Relations:
Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
Assists in conducting investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
Monitors and advises managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline process of the company.
Monitors the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
Reviews and guides management recommendations for employment terminations.
Benefits:
Leads benefits orientations and other benefits training for employees; open enrollment management and execution.
Recommends changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
Day-to-day benefits administration responsibilities and required government reporting.
Law:
Ensures company compliance with all existing governmental labor laws and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth.
Maintains minimal company exposure to grievances.
Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.
Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
Assists in minimizing risk for the company.
Ensures that employee files are kept up to date and in compliance.
Other Aspects of Human Resources Department:
Provides back up to Payroll Supervisor.
Participates in organization and execution of all company communications, meetings and events.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Human Resources Generalist Capacity
Strong understanding of local, state and federal employment laws, and best practices
Outstanding attention to detail.
Excellent active listening and presentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills with all levels of the company
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
